From Homer to the present day, Greek literature has been synonymous with Greek culture. It is Greek culture which emphatically represents the basic ideas of Greek Civilisation abroad. The development of Greek Culture abroad is enormous and the need to preserve it among our younger generations and the population at large is of great significance.

Among the main activities of the Literature Department are:

  • Giving lessons to younger people regarding the history and the development of the Greek literary forms, i.e. poetry, prose, etc.
  • Organising literary events and presenting the works of individual literary men and women from the various periods of Greek culture.
  • Presenting publications of various literary men and women.
  • Offering seminars and lectures on various literary forms.
