A Trip to Greece

A group of École Socrates-Démosthène graduates participated in the annual educational trip to Greece for the sixth consecutive year. From June 17th to June 25th, they experienced unique moments, explored their ancestors land and enjoyed Greece’s unique beauty.

The trip was organized in three distinct parts.  During the first part, the graduates went to Molaoi and Monemvasia, where appointed tour guides brought them to visit numerous historical sites in the greater area.  During the second part, they had a two-day stay at the archaeological site of Olympia,  where the Olympic Spirit was born.  Finally, they completed the last part of their trip with a two-day stay at a hotel in Glyfada, near the beach.  The students and teachers , accompanied by a Greek guide,  went on various educational excursions in Athens, the Acropolis and Epidavros.

“I am extremely satisfied by the success of the trip”, École Socrates-Démosthène General Director, Chris Adamopoulos said. “The kids returned from their trip really excited and thanks to the unique experience of discovering their roots, they were able to apply what that they learnt from our school. This trip was a valuable life lesson for them. I wish them all the success in life.”

We would like to thank Pramataris Hotel in Monemvasia, Yannis Terizakis Proti Cruises, in Marathoupoli and the Mayor, Mr. Panayiotis Katsivelas, who spoke and gave a gift to each child. Also, Captain Yanni who let each child drive the boat.

The wonderful people at the Olympic Village Hotel in Olympia; very accommodating, even went out and bought the birthday cake for one of our students.

Last but not least, we would like to thank our dedicated and caring teachers Nelli Vlahandreas, Lison Thibault and Christos Filandrianos for their outstanding efforts accompanying the students throughout the trip.
